Assorti d\u2019une bourse de 30 000 $, le prix est octroy\u00e9 \u00e0 tous les deux ans \u00e0 un professeur ou un chercheur en histoire du Qu\u00e9bec dont les r\u00e9alisations sont remarquables.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2000 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la mise sur pied du Fonds G\u00e9rard-Parizeau, le Prix G\u00e9rard-Parizeau rend hommage au fondateur de la firme Sodarcan, figure marquante du monde de l\u2019assurance au Qu\u00e9bec. G\u00e9rard Parizeau \u00e9tant passionn\u00e9 d\u2019histoire, le prix porte, en alternance, sur la finance ou l\u2019\u00e9conomie les ann\u00e9es paires, et sur l\u2019histoire, les ann\u00e9es impaires.
